Join us for this month’s Lunch & Learn and hear from Feleecia Watkins, manager of the YSS Mentoring Program. She will talk about the program’s impact, walk through the steps to become a mentor and share creative ways for the community to get involved.
January is National Mentoring Month. YSS dedicates the month of January to spreading awareness for the need for mentors and recognizing the important role mentors play in our lives. The YSS Mentoring Program is unique in the communities served, with over 23 years of successfully matching youth and mentors, creating life-changing—and often life-long—relationships. The YSS Mentoring Program gives hope and opportunity to youth in the community by providing caring, positive role models. We hold the distinction of being certified by the Iowa MENTOR, which requires adherence to strict guidelines and best practices established by MENTOR, the National Mentoring Partnership.
