FUEL Story County Committees
FUEL Story County offers a variety of ways to get engaged in our community. Read more about our committees to learn how you can get involved, and contact a committee co-chair to get started! All FUEL members can participate in committees. If you're interested in leading a committee, please apply for a position on the FUEL board by filling out the application below.
The Community Outreach & Partnerships (COPS) committee connects FUEL members with organizations, causes, events, and fundraisers in Ames and broader Story County. Our committee makes it easy for new members to make meaningful connections with community leaders, non-profits, and other influential groups in Story County.
Not sure what’s out there? Our FUELitFoward volunteer events are a regular occurrence! We encourage each member to try out several types of events. Watch the weekly FUEL emails for upcoming FUELItForward events!
The Leadership & Professional Development (L&PD) committee organizes events that provide educational, informative and practical learning opportunities which enhance FUEL members’ leadership skills and stimulate their professional development. Through monthly lunch-and-learns and other events, members are provided with opportunities to explore leadership opportunities, learn from community leaders, and build the confidence and skillset to grow as professionals in their own organizations.
It’s not all down to business! Join the Social committee and help plan all of the fun and games FUEL has throughout the year. The Social Committee is in charge of planning FUEL Fest, monthly ThAWs (Thursday After Work) and other social events for FUEL members.
